We’re Ready To Hit The Road!

Dear Wanderer,

Ray and I are excited to hit the road again. In fact, we’re leaving the Palm Springs area in just about three weeks. Our winter ‘breather’ did its job and gave us a little time to rest, work, and play, but we are both getting a little stir crazy. Our upcoming itinerary is pretty exciting. From the desert, we’ll head back to the SoCal coast to hang out with our kids, attend a few graduations (RJ undergrad from LMU, Nick grad school at Chapman), and check out some neighborhoods for future consideration. Then, off to Vegas for some hiking at Red Rock, a few concerts and shows, and use of the airport for work trips. Onward to Moab, UT, to visit a few of the National Parks we missed last time around. By Mid-July, we’ll be heading to Colorado where I’ll spend time in Gunnison for my second year of residency, and then Chicago by mid-August for Fan Expo, where I’ll be signing books and hosting panels. More on that closer to the time! On the way back west, we’ll hit the last four states in the lower forty-eight in order to complete our map, including the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Idaho. I’ll start to post more pictures again, so be sure to check out my instagram account @tabithalord.

We are well into our third year as nomads, and it’s been quite the adventure. As we finish the goal we set for ourselves of spending time in every state in the lower forty-eight, we’re starting to think about settling down again somewhere. We’ve loved our time on the road, but the one thing we truly miss is community, and it’s hard to build that when you’re moving around every few weeks. But, that’s a conversation for another day!
