The Countdown Begins!

Dear Maggie,

What do you do in the weeks leading up to a new release?

Sincerely,

Busy in Biloxi

Dear Busy,

There is so much to do in the weeks leading up to a new release, especially for an indie author! Once the book has been edited and formatted, and the cover art complete, it’s time to move into production and promotion mode. With my romance series, my goal is to get the book into readers hands, and garner sales and reviews.

I’ll use my social media platform to show off the beautiful cover art, give little teasers, and share my own excitement about the upcoming release. I’ll create a marketing plan, which includes uploading the ARC (advanced reader copy) to professional sites where reviewers can grab a copy. I’ll work with my promotional team to create ads for Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, and BookBub. I’ll schedule blog tours, interviews, and send off guest blog posts to reader sites. Goodreads is a tried and true site where readers look for new material, so I’ll make sure my latest book is loaded to my account.

With every new release, I’ll use the opportunity to try something new to promote the story. This time, I’ve partnered with Instagram influencers who received a signed copy of the book in exchange for featuring it on their platforms. We’ll see if that helps new readers discover the series.

The weeks leading up to a new release are an exciting time for an author. We’ve worked for months to write a book we want to share, so when we send it out into the world and then receive that first positive review, it is such a satisfying moment. I hope you will find Moving Target to be a worthy addition to the Tactical Solutions International romantic suspense series, and I can’t wait to hear what you think of Teag and Maria’s adventure!

You’ve already seen the cover on an earlier blog, so here’s the synopsis, which actually took me days to write!

Teagan Tate has everything he’s ever wanted, but despite his wild success as a musician and his wild popularity with the ladies, he’s lonely. Meaningless hookups are getting old. There is one woman he’s interested in, but she won’t give him the time of day.

Maria Ruiz has no time for men like Teag – men with a revolving bedroom door who are too cocky for their own good. Sure, he has the body of a Greek god and a sexy Aussie accent, but as head of security for his band, Maria won’t risk her professional reputation. And as a woman who’s been there and done that, she won’t risk her heart.

Things take a deadly turn when Teag is the sole surviving witness to a cartel murder. Still recovering from his injuries, he’s forced into hiding with his sexy bodyguard. As their feelings grow into something unexpected and wonderful, a ruthless killer continues to hunt Teag. Maria and Teag must rely on each other to stay out of his crosshairs, or they risk losing each other and their chance at love.

You can pre-order your copy of Moving Target here. If you have an account with BookFunnel, you can download an ARC for review here. Tuesday, June 21st is the big day, and I’ll be opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Join me?
