Maggie on the Move
In my last post, I mentioned that my husband and I had sold our house along with most of our stuff, bought an RV, and hit the road. The whole plan was one of those wake-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-with-a-crazy-idea moments, but we looked at each other and asked, “Why not?”
I find when I have those out of the box thoughts and I begin exploring them, things either fall into place right away or I’m hit with stumbling blocks that make me reassess. Well, we had an offer on our house within minutes. Okay, not minutes, but pretty quickly! We found the RV we’d been looking for on a lot while on vacation in Florida, designed some modifications for our pets, and drove it home a few weeks later. We spent a lovely, last Christmas holiday in RI at my parents’ and then got underway.
It’s been just over three weeks, and it feels a little surreal, like maybe we’re still on vacation! So far, the cats and dog have settled in fabulously, Ray and I have become rather handy at fixing things, we’ve comfortably settled into a work routine while also making time to have fun, and we’ve met some great people. We’ve recently booked our summer plans, and I’m super excited to explore a whole list of national parks. If you’d like to keep track of our journey and read my bi-weekly random musings from the previous week or so, you can subscribe to my “Five Things” newsletter HERE (bottom of the home page).
In the spirit of new adventures, I'll be re-titling this blog “Maggie on the Move,” and you can expect short, fun posts on books, writing, pets, my upcoming projects, and travel, along with a whole slew of pictures. You’re still most welcome to reach out and ask me questions, which I’ll answer here on the blog, and you can follow my photo journey on Instagram @tabithalord and @msmaggiec.
Here’s a little glimpse of our life on move so far…
